Job: Export to File: no headers/trailers

Hi,
I tryed to Export a query to a Fiel with a Job.
What I found in my file was this:
"
Job 'ExportToSiclid' : Step 1, 'ExportFile' : Began Executing 2004-06-22
13:16:07
tdprNFoy tdprNCCD CallDate TEL Choice
tdprNSocFin Agent
-- -- -- -- -- --
-- --
4240001034 9100 2004-06-22-13.13.48.71700 0478385115 Informatie 110
Van den Hel, Heidi
4276454891 9100 2004-06-22-13.13.57.23300 0 FIDI 104
Tanghe, Wendy
(2 rows(s) affected)
"
What I actually expected and wanted was this:
"
42400010349100 2004-06-22-13.13.48.717000478385115 Informatie110
Van den Hel, Heidi
42764548919100 2004-06-22-13.13.57.233000 FIDI 104
Tanghe, Wendy
"
So without the header, without the trailer, without the names of the
columns, and without a space between the columns.
Is this possible or not, and if so: how?
Thanks a lot in advance,
PieterHi
This looks like you are starting a command prompt and running osql/isql? You
may want to look at adding SET NOCOUNT ON to the SQL and using the -h flag
to osql/isql. Alternatively try the
DTS Export wizard or BCP utility. Mor information on all of these can be
found in Books Online.

And how do you put a DTS or BCP in a job so it is executed every day

If you run the DTS export wizard that will give you the option to schedule
the DTS job. This can also be changed in the created job. If you are already
running osql from your batch job, you can change the command to run BCP
instead.

Job to be run ever first for the previous calendar month

Hi!

I have a query that has to return bunch of data based on the calendar
month. I have to make sure that it will return data to me for 28 days
if it is February and for 31 if it is August(for example). I need to
be able to execute it every first of every month for the past 30, 31 or
28 days based on the calendar month. Is there a function or a stored
procedure that I can use to do that?

Thank you,
T.tolcis,

There might be a more elegant way, but this should work:

declare @.Now datetime
declare @.StartDate datetime
declare @.EndDate datetime

set @.Now = getdate()
if datepart(d, @.Now) = 1 -- only execute if it is the first day of the month
begin
-- to get start date, subtract one month from the date and remove the
time from the date
set @.StartDate = convert(varchar(15), dateadd (m, -1, @.now), 112)
-- to get end date, remove time from date
set @.EndDate = dateadd(m, 1, @.StartDate)
print cast(@.StartDate as char(25)) + cast(@.EndDate as char(25))
-- execute your code here using >= @.StartDate and < @.EndDate
end

-- Bill

Ignore the first post, this is better. Schedule your job to be run on the
first of every month. This will give you the prior month date range for any
date, not just the 1st. This way if the job fails you can also run it on the
2nd, 3rd, etc.

declare @.Now datetime
declare @.StartDate datetime
declare @.EndDate datetime

set @.Now = getdate()

-- to get end date, subtract days to get to get 1st of the month for any
date
set @.EndDate = dateadd(d, 1 - datepart(d,@.Now), @.Now)

-- remove the time portion
set @.EndDate = convert(char(12), @.EndDate, 112)

-- subtract a month for start date
set @.StartDate = dateadd(m, -1, @.EndDate)
print cast(@.StartDate as char(25)) + cast(@.EndDate as char(25))
-- execute your code here using >= @.StartDate and < @.EndDate

Job Scheduler

Hi all
When I run a stored procedure using the job scheduler in
SQL 2000 it takes more time to complete comparing when I
run it in the Query analyser.
Is there any reason behind this?
Example
I am running a stored Procedure for generating a report
every one minute using a job scheduler.
It takes 13 seconds to complete.
Whereas when I run the same SP in Query Analyser it takes
only 2 sec or 3 seconds.
Please clarify.
Thanks in advance

Job Performance Vs Running from Query Analyzer

I have a proc that takes 43 seconds to run if I run it from query analyzer. If I run it from a job it takes 17.5061 minutes.
The job command is EXEC [HYPERe]..[B33HiveMigration].
I cut and paste it into Query Analyzer and whosh. From the job it's a dog. Are jobs governed. No other variables to consider - on a standalone network using the same box. The proc performs a series of updates, deletes, and inserts.
Thank you for your help.

Ideally, it should take around the same amount of time. But are there any
logs in the sqlagent.out that might point to some errors or weird behaviour?

Ownership issues? Why did you leave the table owner name blank (you should
always specify dbo if there is only one such table)? If you are dbo you are
going to see different plan, perhaps, than SQL Server agent (remember that
SQL Server Agent jobs do not execute in the same context as you are
currently logged in to Query Analyzer).

Thank you for your help.Ownership issues? Why did you leave the table owner name blank (you should
always specify dbo if there is only one such table)? If you are dbo you are
going to see different plan, perhaps, than SQL Server agent (remember that
SQL Server Agent jobs do not execute in the same context as you are
currently logged in to Query Analyzer).

Thank you for your help.Ideally, it should take around the same amount of time. But are there any
logs in the sqlagent.out that might point to some errors or weird behaviour?

JDBC driver for Microsoft SQL Server CE / Compact Edition

Hi,

I have a J2EE based web application. There is a requirement where user triggers a process to query a database, and the application needs to save the results to an SDF file (Microsoft SQL Server CE 2.0 / Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition) database. I need JDBC driver for it, but could not find it anywhere. Please help. Also, if there is any alternate way to do this, please let me know.

Thanks,
Vaibhavhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb331716.aspx & http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb331729.aspx should get you what you want.|||No it does not. I think there is no such thing developed yet.|||You could submit such request by using http://connect.microsoft.com and also search under http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/jdbc/getstart/bridge.doc.html#996747 Sun website for any relevant ODBC-JDBC bridge.
